We Take Ethics & Compliance Seriously

At Childers Construction, we are committed to doing the right thing at all times.

This is evident in our business practices and reflected in our Code of Ethics and Business Conduct outlined below. The code provides guidance for Childers Construction employees as we work together and with clients, suppliers, trade partners, and other third parties. The provisions of the code are fundamental to how we do business, and they directly reflect the principles we believe in and live by: honesty, integrity, fairness, dependability, respect, and cooperation.

Treating Others Respectfully
You are expected to treat fellow employees, customers, and business partners with dignity and respect. This means listening to one another’s ideas and conducting yourself with professionalism. It also means speaking up when you see or experience actions that do not align with our values or policies.

Childers Construction values an inclusive workforce because it promotes diversity of thinking, allowing us to reach new solutions that help us meet the needs of our customers. Because of this, diversity and inclusion are an integral part of our company culture. Diversity makes Childers Construction stronger, more competitive, and a better place to work for everyone.

Non-Discrimination and Non-Harassment
Maintaining a respectful and professional workplace is a top priority at Childers. We are committed to providing a working environment that is free of unlawful discrimination and harassment. We do not make employment-related decisions or discriminate against anyone on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship status, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. We also prohibit harassment based on any of the above characteristics.

 Avoiding Conflicts of Interest
You have a duty to avoid conflicts of interest between your obligations to Childers Construction and your personal affairs. You must disclose to Senior Management any relationship or activity that could influence, or appear to influence, the decisions you make for Childers Construction. Actual or potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed and resolved in accordance with company policy, in consultation with our attorneys. Appearances are important, and you should avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest.

Keeping Accurate Books & Records
We maintain accurate books and records to show where the company stands financially. At all times, Childers Construction’s financial books, records, cost accounts, and financial statements properly document all assets and liabilities, accurately reflect company transactions, and be retained in accordance with company policy and applicable laws and regulations. We also keep an accurate record of project and cost information, employee training, and health and safety incidents, to the extent that these apply to your job.

Honesty and transparency in project reporting—both internally and externally—are critical. They preserve Childers Construction’s reputation. For example, accurately charging labor, material, and other costs is necessary to maintain the integrity of project costs and other financial records. To this end, deliberately mischarging time or other expenses violates company policy. Knowingly charging an unauthorized account or cost code, knowingly approving such mischarging, or transferring costs to improper accounts are also prohibited. Everyone at Childers Construction is responsible for ensuring that labor, travel, material, and other expenses are recorded truthfully and accurately. If you have questions or concerns about proper charging of labor and other costs, you should contact the chief financial officer.

Providing Exceptional Quality for Our Customers
Like any construction project, building Childers Construction’s reputation requires setting high standards and following all contract specifications. To ensure that our work always meets quality control standards, we familiarize ourselves with the standards and specifications that apply to the projects we work on. You should always alert your supervisor to any quality or safety issues immediately.

Childers Construction also guarantees quality products and services to our customers through proper supply chain due diligence, monitoring, and enforcement. We firmly hold our suppliers accountable for ensuring the quality of the goods and services they provide. If we have reason to believe that a supplier has failed to provide quality products or services, we contact our supervisor immediately.
